Tabletop Forge 2.0 is now in open beta. Use the button below to start a Hangout using the app. Once you do that the app should then appear under your Recent Apps list for use in any future Hangouts. If someone joins your Hangout when you have the app loaded they will get a prompt to load the app as well and then it will be in their Recent Apps list and so on.
Please note that this is still a beta and new features can be added at any time, current features could break temporarily, and the user interface could change. I am working on adding an in-game help but in the meantime I will try and get a post up here today with commonly used slash commands for the chat.
Wow this looks great. Is there any way to do a “fog of war” type of effect when displaying a map so that you can slowly reveal an old school style map as the players explore a dungeon? I toyed around with drawing a map and I can’t do a straight line to save my life.
Currently this seems more suited for battle grid style play.
I noticed that it allows multiple map segment loads, brandon. You can do a one-room-at-a-time by loading each room as a separate map item. (GEOMORPHS! YAY!)
Dont know what I am doing wrong – I can see Tableforge under the recent apps, but it wont let me add/run it.
OK< ignore that. Figured out what I did wrong.
I have an idea for the table that would be a cool feature to add. Have each row include a “range” so we can fine tune the rate a given row appears. I’m creating a “hit location” table right now and I can currently simulate this by adding the same body part multiple times but the above suggestion would make life a bunch easier. Good work so far
That’s on my to-do list already. Since this in now open I should compile that together and update the roadmap.
I can’t seem to find many of the features you have listed on your site such as the combat tracker, the character sheets, and the video feed overlay. Have these been implemented into 2.0 yet?
Those are coming back in 2.0. Sorry should have updated the features page just haven’t had a chance. Although the video feed should be part of it (it’s the resizable, movable video window, that doesn’t default in Hangout apps).
Looks good and I look forward to further development.
Is looking great! I’m really excited to see what Tabletop Forge already supports, and what is waiting in the wings. Great work!
hi! thumbs up job on the app! i would suggest for an eraser in the drawing tools if possible. that would make drawing so much easier.
It’s coming soon.
Thanks for all of your hard work! My group and I love this app.
I have one question. When I start a hangout using the red link above, the app works just fine. However, when I start a hangout and then add the app, it doesn’t seem to work properly. Text that has been entered doesn’t appear in the box, I can’t select or move tokens, etc. Do you know why this might be?
That is kind of strange. Have your tried clearing your browser cache?
This is pretty cool. I’m gonna be staying in school for Summer classes at my university and most of my group is going home so we are looking to possibly use this over the summer. Question though. Is it possible to open new “tabs” on the map screen? If so, how.
Not yet, planning on it soon.
I DM’d my first session using this today, and it went great, until I encountered some bugs
. Is there any sort of bug tracker, or how can I report errors I encounter?
I really like what I’ve seen so far, but one thing I noticed was the inability to parse dice commands that mix Tags with Target Numbers. In a game like Wushu, for instance, being able to type something like, “/d 3d6[Yin]+2d6[Yang]>=3″ might be helpful.
[...] man, am I excited about this. I love roleplaying games but it’s really hard to get a consistent group going. I’ve [...]
Hi!
We’ve been playing Marvel Heroic Roleplaying through Tabletop Forge and I got to say that having the possibility of reorganizing the dicepool is great! It would be nice if we could further distinguish the d8 from the d10 besides color.
Oh, and in MHR the GM has a fixed pool of dice that he can roll and add dice to it. Is there anyway that we can have that on Tabletop Forge?
Either way keep up the good work.
I’m trying this out now. Looks great and I can’t wait to use it with my group. I ran into a problem, though: I accidentally dragged the text box to a position where I can no longer move it. Is there a way to close it or move it?
You can always reload the app. If you click the Apps menu button on the bottom left you can X out of Tabletop Forge and then load it again by clicking the icon at the top.
I found a bug where if you click, say, the ‘Draw’ button, but you’ve already got the draw tool open and minimized, it will go away forever. So I tried this suggestion to reload the app, and it cleared all the tokens off my map.
I can work around the latter behavior, but is the former a known bug?
This is a fucking fantastic app, by the way.
Yes it possible to get windows to disappear and we are working on fixing it.

Video contains examples of the problems.
None of the image/token features work for me at all.
Images and tokens I upload can’t be moved or anything by anyone.
Images/Tokens uploaded by others I can move and interact with.
Image resizing is wonky.
The draw feature works and doesn’t work at random.
Do fixes exist?
I literally just got done fixing a bug where period’s in your username was causing de-synch issues because jQuery thought it was a selector. If you refresh your browser cache and try again it should work much better for you in regards to the tokens/images not working.
The drawing thing might be different though. What looks like was happening was for a couple events it was not sending across the JSON data at all. So when the other guy started drawing it resent back what he though was the current JSON data and thus your stuff disappeared. I would need to see if I could reproduce with you while turning on some debugging stuff.
Well the period bug fix works swimmingly.
If the drawing tool issues come up again, then I will certainly let you know.
